The History of
ARFIX Produções
From Passion for Sports to Elite Broadcasts
This is the story of how two friends turned banter and passion for sports into one of the main live broadcast production companies for futsal and corporate events in São Paulo.
The Beginning by Chance
It all started on the courts of Clube Atlético Aramaçan, in Santo André. Marco and Raphael played in the club's internal championship, but on different teams. Without any commercial pretension, the two agreed to film each other's matches to keep as a souvenir. There was just one curiosity:
- Raphael's camera was centered, beautiful and professional, but without audio.
- Marco's camera swayed a bit, but he narrated the plays in an extremely extroverted way, creating nicknames for friends and making fun of the plays.
When a mutual friend was called up for the Aramaçan selection and heard about the recordings, he asked the duo to record the game. They decided to join forces: Raphael on the camera and Marco on the microphone. Marco's irreverent narration quickly went viral in the club's WhatsApp groups. The public began demanding more footage. There, in a relaxed way, Uh Doidera Produções was born (a name inspired by a futsal team founded by Marco in 2001).
The First Live Broadcast
At the end of 2018, the team was hired for the first time to film the traditional Summer Tournament of Aramaçan in 2019. Shortly before the championship started, the client asked a challenging question: "Can you broadcast live?"
At that time, the duo didn't have capture cards or dedicated internet. They recorded on memory cards in a Sony Handycam camcorder, transferred it to the computer, and uploaded it to YouTube. But Raphael had an idea: "Let's go live on Facebook using my cell phone and you narrate on the side".
To capture the narration, they adapted a cell phone headphone cable to use the integrated wire microphone. Although the cable was broken (which they discovered hundreds of games later), the proximity of the cell phone luckily captured the audio perfectly.
The broadcast was a resounding success. In a short time, more than half of the tournament's teams wanted broadcasts from Uh Doidera. The duo came to cover about 100 games a month, taking only Mondays off, when the club closed.
In August 2019, Raphael bought the production company's first professional camera on his personal credit card, brought his home computer and implemented the OBS Studio software, elevating the visual level of the broadcasts.
Reinvention in the Pandemic
On March 16, 2020, the lockdown was announced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the courts closed, sports stopped, but the production company didn't. Long-time partners, such as a photographer from Aramaçan, proposed lives of bands in closed bars. The production company also helped create and broadcast TV programs.
During this transition period to the corporate market, weddings and construction companies, the name "Uh Doidera" sounded too informal for commercial meetings. The team temporarily adopted the brand 2N Foto e Vídeo and, later, structured the broadcast arm as Bennu Livestream, operating together until the end of 2020.
The Birth of ARFIX Produções
With the end of the partnership with Bennu, Marco and Raphael needed a definitive brand that combined corporate professionalism and the essence of the duo. After scribbling several ideas, a friend from Bahia sent an unpretentious message: "Hey guys, how's ARFIX doing?"
The explanation of the name fit perfectly:
- AR: A for Aroca, R for Romanichen (last names of Raphael and Marco).
- FIX: From the English "to fix / to resolve".
The name perfectly represented the spirit of the duo: "Aroca and Romanichen resolve everything together". The brand ARFIX Produções was adopted immediately.
The Partnership with Football Giants
With the gradual resumption of activities, ARFIX returned to broadcasting football. They started covering Santo André games. Then, they broadcasted Santo André against Juventus, and then Juventus against São Paulo FC.
It was on this broadcast that a coordinator from São Paulo FC was impressed with the quality and asked: "Who are you? Close your schedules, because now you belong to São Paulo".
ARFIX began to exclusively broadcast the youth futsal matches of São Paulo FC (from under-7 to under-10). Soon after, parents of athletes from Palmeiras saw the work and took the recommendation to the club. ARFIX also closed with Liga Sancaetanense (representing Palmeiras at the time) and, in 2022, consolidated the official broadcast of Palmeiras youth futsal.
To handle the demand of two São Paulo giants simultaneously, Raphael himself debuted as a narrator, forming two official broadcast teams, relying on Marco's nephew and partner Dudu.
Training Talents from Scratch and Scaling the Team
Unlike other production companies that seek outside professionals, ARFIX is proud to train its team from scratch. The first extra team was formed by a great friend who was going through professional difficulties after his gym closed. Raphael and Marco taught him to narrate and operate OBS Studio from absolute scratch. Because he was a "fun guy" and passionate about football, the success was immediate.
Following this philosophy of prioritizing friends and close people to keep the environment light and fun, ARFIX formed a third, fourth and fifth teams. At their peak, they operated with 9 simultaneous broadcast teams, covering dozens of futsal events, SESI graduations, weddings and corporate shows throughout the state.
What moves us today
ARFIX Produções does not just deliver a video broadcast; we deliver emotion. Whether in the final of a youth futsal tournament under the eyes of major São Paulo clubs, or in the broadcast of an unforgettable graduation, we apply the same dedication we had in 2018, when we put a cell phone on the court fence with a patched headphone.
ARFIX Produções: we resolve, we broadcast.
Let's Create Something
